Specialty and unique instruments are those that fall outside the standard catalog of traditional band and orchestra offerings. These items may include rare designs, unusual builds, possibly vintage, or specialized equipment that provides options for musicians with specific needs or preferences. They are intended to offer accessibility and alternatives for players who require something different than the average instrument.

Curved Headjoint Jupiter Flute

This flute features a curved headjoint designed to bring the instrument’s body closer to the player, making it easier to hold and play for those with shorter arms or smaller reach. Ideal for younger students or players who need improved comfort and posture, the curved headjoint allows for proper hand positioning without compromising tone quality.

Armstrong Step-up Head Joints

Armstrong headjoints, each featuring a sterling silver construction with gold lip plate. These are designed as intermediate-level upgrades and will only fit Armstrong brand flutes. Each headjoint is accompanied by a description card that highlights tonal qualities and sound characteristics. For details and play testing, inquiries should be directed in-store.

Bundy Semi-plateau Model

Semi-plateau clarinets are a variation of the traditional student clarinet designed with accessibility in mind. Instead of fully open finger holes, the lower keys of each hand are partially covered, reducing the need for precise finger placement. This makes them especially useful for beginners, players with smaller hands, or musicians with mobility or dexterity challenges who may struggle to seal the largest tone holes (low C and G).
